Schriesheim: Expansion of the e-charging infrastructure and e-car sharing
In Schriesheim, 14 new charging points at five locations and the first FRANKLIN Mobil e-car sharing station were put into operation. These measures are part of a comprehensive plan to promote electromobility in the town and the region. A second expansion phase with a further seven charging points at three locations is already planned. The charging infrastructure includes normal (AC) and fast charging points (DC) with outputs of up to 50 kW, which make it possible to charge electric cars for 100 kilometers in around 20 minutes. A Renault Zoe is available at the first e-car sharing station in Bismarckstraße, and two more vehicles will soon be ready for use in Theodor-Körner-Straße and Altenbach. Based on a potential study, the charging points were placed at central locations such as retail outlets, public services and fitness studios to enable seamless integration into users' daily routines. The electricity at the MVV charging points comes from 100% renewable energy. Users can conveniently use the charging infrastructure via the "MVV eMotion" app, an RFID card or QR codes.
