Aspart of the nationwide  "Hydrogen Week"  from 15 to 23 June, companies, universities and other organizations in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region opened their doors and offered exciting and exclusive insights into their work on the topic of hydrogen. Under the motto "Say Hi to Hy", there were interesting encounters with hydrogen as an energy source, an important component of the energy transition for a climate-neutral future.



The diverse program of the action week was aimed at pupils, students, the public and specialist groups in the region. An open day at the DHBW Mannheim gave visitors the opportunity to get to know the hydrogen laboratory in Eppelheim. The Heinrich Pesch Haus presented its stationary solar hydrogen system together with Wirtschaftsbetriebe Ludwigshafen. The H2Hub from AirLiquide, which was funded as part of the regional H2Rivers project, could be explored during guided tours. Visitors learned how the hydrogen is transported from BASF under the Rhine to Friesenheimer Insel (Mannheim), where it is processed, compressed and filled into truck trailers. The Autovision Museum (Altlußheim) planned a guided tour of hydrogen in the mobility sector for sixth form students. At BASF, in addition to a visit to the electrolysis laboratory, a tour of the hydrogen electrolyzer currently under construction was offered. InnovationLab Heidelberg gave an exciting presentation on the topic of "Pilot factory of the future - electrolysers from the production line" and gave a tour of its laboratory. Beyond theregion, the partners of the TH Ulm offered an excursion especially for craft businesses and depots on the use of emission-free transporters.
