Voluntary Local Report of the MRN

The Rhine-Neckar Metropolitan Region (MRN) is setting a milestone in terms of sustainability and international networking. The Rhine-Neckar region is the first European metropolitan region in Germany to draw up and adopt a Voluntary Local Review (VLR - a voluntary sustainability report). This voluntary sustainability report, which documents the region's progress in implementing the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), was officially submitted to the United Nations on July 17, 2024. [...]

In the report, the MRN documents and analyzes the efforts and successes in the context of sustainability. In particular, it looks at the areas of education, energy, urban and regional development, consumption and production as well as environmental and climate protection. The VLR provides a transparent and data-based overview of current challenges and progress and serves as a basis for future measures and strategies in the Rhine-Neckar region.
