Trainee project "Digitalization"
Promoting trainees as multipliers for digital administration The "Digitalization" trainee project aims to promote digital awareness and digital skills among trainees at an early stage. The Auzubi project familiarizes trainees with the topics of digital administration and is intended to promote interdisciplinary cooperation, independent work and creative, solution-oriented thinking. A workshop report, which bundles the experiences and findings from the pilot project, enables local authorities to easily implement the trainee project. Templates contained in the workshop report can be used for this purpose.

Problem

VG Jockgrim
Digital transformation and demographic change are known to require a change in (digital) awareness and even more comprehensive further and advanced training to maintain and acquire corresponding (digital) skills. It is also important to (further) develop and practice collaboration in project structures and across disciplines. Trainees are the future and hopefully long-term employees and therefore key players in local government who need to be supported at an early stage and on a long-term basis.
The trainee project also offers the opportunity to present your own administration as an attractive employer - to those interested in training as well as your own trainees and employees. This is because the trainee project allows people to experience how their own ideas can contribute to creating and maintaining a modern, innovative and citizen-oriented administration. This can strengthen job satisfaction and motivation as well as identification with one's own administration - also among employees.
Objective and Approach

VG Jockgrim
The trainee project lasts four to six months. For the kick-off workshopas a project start for the trainees, the beginning of a new training year (usually August or September) is a good time. usually August or September). The kick-off workshop also offers the opportunity to get to know each other. At the same time, the trainee project should ideally end in January or February so that it overlaps as little as possible with the trainees' preparations for their final exams in their third year of training. The timeline of the pilot project illustrates the project schedule.
The promotion of independent work in a project context underlies the basic concept of the trainee project, which attempts to cover as many project phases as possible - from project planning on the basis of a work assignment, team organization and the development of an idea or approach to a solution through to project completion.
The overarching goal is to anchor "digitalization topics" more firmly in training and to promote digital skills as part of the training. Specifically, the trainee project aims to increase trainees'
- (legal) knowledge of digitalization
- to (further) develop digital awareness at an early stage
- to strengthen teamwork and communication skills
- to raise awareness of collaboration across specialist boundaries
- to promote creative solution-oriented thinking & working
